Henry Natter SancerreA fine example of proper Sancerre. Elegant with pale golden hues, a lovely floral perfume and an intense yet restrained palate that's marked with a cleansing minerality and mouth watering burst of clean citrus. As climates warm, traditionally very austere, brightly acidic wines like Sancerre are having no choice but to soften. It's still Loire Sauvignon Blanc, so there is inevitably still a lovely thread of acidity and mineral crunch to the wine, but

The nose shows baked apple and brioche aromas with the zest of a lemon

or moved from barrel to barrel

The wine is then aged partly in steel tanks and partly in Tonneaux (oak barrels)

the latter a bright backbone of acidity

with oysters on the side or simply a sunny afternoon that's earned a companion like this

The wine has been aged in American and French barrels for a minimum of 24 months
