Montague City / US Net & Twine nickel silver fly reel - size 60ydFor sale here is a very rarely seen trout reel. Made from German silver and hard rubber, the reel dates from either right before or right after the turn of the 20th century. The maker was either US Net & Twine or the Montague City Rod Company after the merger of the two companies. The diameter of the reel is 2 1 8" and the pillar length is 1 1 16". The reel will hold a five weight line plus backing. The clicker drag mechanism works flawlessly, as does

Left-hand retrieve (hard to find)

The second tip features a small band of gold thread below the tip-top to distinguish it from the other tip

Blued ferrules with red witness marks

The foot is full length and not filed

The reel is left hand retrieve and in excellent overall condition

which is a well made replacement

German Silver and Ebonite construction

No leading exists because there never was any leading

Hardy made these for sea-trout and light salmon and steelhead fishing

As far as I have been able to determine this may be the only small Montana model that T&T produced
