After reading The DaVinci Code a novel by Dan Brown I became very interested in the golden rectangle and the divine proportion

it worked well on this Romantic

I worked its way for around a year before I tired of cutting 8x10 sheet film down in the dark

At the time I felt a bit bleak and my feelings came through in this negative

and another local photographer ( I rarely do this but this day was an exception)

This hand-pulled photogravure print is made with Charbonnel carbon black and raw sepia ink

I printed an edition of 6 numbered prints and  2 A/P prints

I talk about this idea in my portrait workshops as a way to insure portrait photographs transcend beyond the identity of the sitter

simple scenes that bring me comfort when I view the prints

but still I dream of what it was like
