Lot 060 - Pair Of Vintage Chinese Carved Stone Bookends With Monkey And Beast In High-Relief Jungle Scene, 5-1/2" H EachPair of vintage Chinese carved stone bookends, likely soapstone or similar soft carving stone, each depicting a high relief jungle style scene with a monkey interacting with a larger four legged beast amid branches and foliage. Deeply undercut pierced carving with lots of dimensional detail to the animals and vines. Warm tan and ochre stone with natural veining and light wear consistent with age.
It features a nice big Dick Tracy logo across the front and a 7-hole snap strip on the back
Corners and edges of covers and spine are heavily rubbed and worn
and everyday life
Please note that the latch on the case does not spring open
She features hand painted details such as a green dress
minor spotting
