R.I.P. (wood print | black on wood background)Not every death is explained. My idea for this piece was as much about drawing a bunch of pebbles and tree bark as it was about drawing a skeleton. Ive always liked drawing skulls and skeletons but most of the time Ive drawn them in art classes as studies or practice for other drawings. I really like the texture of the flamingo that I came up with and what better way to add a pattern than to add a flamingo wallpaper as the background

One of the best animals to illustrate patterns of life

My originals are all 16” x 20”

This piece is also about a moment in a rampage

The elephants skin was inspired a a type of sea coral and I added the fire to add a sense of luck that is smoldering under the surface almost unattainable

How things can be so familiar

In my previous turtle drawing "The Earth Builder" I did a combination of African and Australian tribal patterns

I find my frames a thrift stores and build to the size of the frame

And will definitely be adding some more large pieces like this

The loose nature and absence of patterns made this piece no exception

I like to depict my subject with unusual texture I wanted to add a texture that would illustrate the treacherous nature of luck
