David Edel Philbrook & Paine Style Fly ReelFor sale here is a bench made reel by David Edel, his rendition of the Philbrook and Paine reel. Unused, as new condition. Fixed check. The reel has a 3 1 4" diameter pillar to pillar, a 5 8" wide spool, and weighs 7 3 4 oz. Fixed, non adjustable click drag. Nickel copper rims, nickel silver screws, counterbalance, pillars. Stainless steel foot. Aluminum spool with bronze arbor. High quality ebonite side plates. The reel is set up for left hand
The rod is in near mint original condition
and Canadian fisheries in general

Mechanically the reel is still in good condition with a RHW fixed check and some end play like most Uniqua-style reels
though this appears fairly minimal
n/s cap and ring over a maple spacer
Swiss-style ferrules size 13/64 with a perfect fit
it really casts any line from a 6-8 very nicely
The ferrules are size 11/64 with a great fit
the scarce Offshore spool as well as a Bonefish spool
the cork remains quite smooth
