What We Collect / a series - photogravure print - The Weekly EditionI find myself surrounded by collections of small objects that come through my life. Some practical, some less so. Turns out I am not the only one, this jar of buttons was collected by a relative of my wife, now she has them, and I borrowed them for a minute. This photogravure is made from a one of a kind tintype. I am enjoying using this new printmaking method I love so much to make reproductions of otherwise single objects. Hand pulled photogravure

Over the years I have often turned to the genre of still life when I am wanting to make work and be alone with my thoughts

In 2009 when my youngest daughter was 13 she was reading the "Twilight" books

it felt good today to make this print of her little pear in photogravure

it was a big decision for me

It is the beautiful form of the architecture combined with the incredible function it serves that draws me in and makes me want to know the history and make pictures

I believe deeply in photographic portraits and the history they can portray
