My Folding Chair - photogravure print - The Weekly EditionI have a thing for simple, well designed objects. My choice of a slightly mottled off white background is likely a nod to my photography hero Irving Penn. After all the years of platinum printing it brings me joy to hand print these negatives in polymer gravure with all the feelings that go along with making marks on paper with my hands. This hand pulled photogravure, print is made with Charbonnel F66 Black,and Bistre inks on Hahnemhle copperplate

I am at home itching to make a new photograph so I tore open a paper shopping bag a tossed the tulips down on the bag

Look forward to more in this new series as I explore up and down the Willamette

I have never be a photographer who seeks out the iconic views of known places

I admire the self-portrait work made by my closest friends and felt like making my own self-portrait as I look out to what is possible
