Tulips - Polymer photogravure print - Edition 2021I was teaching a wet plate workshop in 2010 and had come to the studio with this vase of fresh tulips to use as a prop. Before the students arrived I made a couple of 8x10 film negatives of the setup. I made many platinum prints of this negative over the years and last week I made this edition of photogravures. This hand pulled polymer photogravure print by Ray Bidegain is in an edition of 10 numbered prints and 1 A P print. Printed with Gamblin

and an edition of 9 numbered prints and 3 A/P prints

This is truly the only way still life photography works for me

I found that many of the stories I wanted to tell on my trip to France rose up from the romance I felt for the place

I was later surprised to find out folks had to pay to have the leaves hauled away by the city
